AMP Strings

Class Assignments - AMP I Strings:

 

Weekly assignments are posted below listed by the date it was assigned.

 

November 8th, 2014

• Practice all songs on pg. 8-9 in Essential Elements for Strings book, pizzicato and arco

• Practice bow exercises: "windshield wipers" and "rocket bow"

• For violins: remember to keep left hand like a tunnel so that nothing is touch the side of the neck

• Go Ahead

• This section is not required but is encouraged for students who want to do more:

• Practice songs on pgs. 10-13 of Essential Elements for Strings book

• Practice individual assigned piece, if you requested and received one

 

November 1st, 2014

• Practice all songs on pg. 8-9 in Essential Elements for Strings book, pizzicato and arco

• Practice bow hold and shaping of left hand as seen on pgs. 6 -7 of Essential Elements for Strings book

• Practice songs on pgs. 10 - 11 of Essential Elements for Strings book

• Practice individual assigned piece, if you requested and received one

October 11th, 2014

• Practice songs on pgs. 4-7 and #10 on pg. 6 in Essential Elements for Strings book.  Pizzicato and arco (with bow).

 

October 4th, 2014

• Practice songs on pgs. 4-5 and #10 on pg. 6 in Essential Elements for Strings book.  Pizzicato only.

• For students who didn't already complete this, in Essential Elements for Strings book, write in the beats for #9 on pg. 5. 

• Go Ahead

       This section is not required but is encouraged for students who want to do more:

• ​Practice songs #11 and 12 on pg. 6 and all songs on pg. 7

September 27, 2014

• Practice songs on pgs. 4-5 in Essential Elements for Strings book.  Pizzicato only.  We will learn how to use the bow later.

• Study terms in yellow boxes on pgs. 4-5 in Essential Elements for Strings book

• Study the names of the parts of the instrument in the Essential Elements for Strings book
